JANUARY – Landscape Includes seascapes and skyscapes and urban scapes. People are permissible if not the primary subject. Astro allowed if significant terrestrial element.
FEBRUARY– Love It’s Valentines Day – Share the Love – Images that depict love – can be people/animals/symbols.
MARCH – Portrait A human person or group. You need not show the whole person or a face. The image will be assessed not only on its technical competence but also on how much it conveys about the person or people, including relationships between people.
APRIL– Abstract An Image that does not attempt to represent reality, but rather seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, colours and textures.
MAY – Macro/ Close up in the Kitchen or Workshop in Mono (Date Restricted) The image must be taken after 13th March 2024. The definition of monochrome, for the purposes of a monthly competition is: any image containing shades of black, white or a single colour. If toning is carried out, it must be over the total photograph.
JUNE – Street Photography A candid scene of a real moment in time that includes a person or persons.
JULY – A Woodland Scene A landscape image that includes trees.
AUGUST – Still Life Depicts inanimate objects usually in a group.
SEPTEMBER– W.O.W. – White on White A white subject on a white background.
OCTOBER– Past and Present – a Diptych An image shot from the same viewpoint showing the passage of time ie. Same tree in winter then summer. Diptych – two separate images which are placed side by side.
NOVEMBER – T.B.A. To become whatever theme Wagin announce that they are highlighting for 2025
