Better Images
An interactive discussion about planning and taking images for competition
23 April 2025
This is a special workshop brought to you by the Education and Workshop committees in response to criticism by Judges of NEPG competition entries
Facilitated by Barbara Brown and Mark Greenland, this group discussion will explore the planning, execution and editing of images for competitive use. Every club member will enjoy participating in the whole process of image making by reference to purpose made photos including examples of common flaws. You will receive a checklist of matters to consider before and while you’re making photos. You will see how images can be greatly improved simply by thinking about the things which might attract criticism or win high praise. This could be what you need to elevate your results and enhance your satisfaction. If you’re already a winner, come along and share your experience: it’s rewarding!
You won’t need your gear – this is about thinking– but there will be a photowalk later in the year to put your new thinking to work.
